The Middle Ages are known for their imaginative and colourful book illustration. In our book illumination workshop, you will learn about and apply the techniques and materials used in this craft. We will gild, make paint on a grinding stone and paint with fine brushes. The aim of the course is to design your own initial or miniature, gild it and paint it in detail.<\/p>

The course is intended as an introduction and is aimed at anyone who enjoys precise, calm artistic work. No prior knowledge is necessary and all materials are provided.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

We strive for historical authenticity as far as possible. However, there are limitations, as many pigments used historically are highly toxic, for example. We have made every effort to find harmless equivalents that still match the original appearance.
